"Sometimes haunting and angelic and sometimes abrasive and demonic, amarevois' voice is one of those voices that stops you in your tracks. It's not only got range (my boyfriend asked "who’s the guy singing backing vocals?” when we listened to ‘Whispers from the Ashen Road’ in the car) but its got something else. Is it ‘edge’? But what is ‘edge’? I guess it’s an extremely expressive style, running from a dark broody croak, to a full blast operatic soprano note and everything in between. It whispers and it cries, and it moans and it barks. Above all, it’s an honest voice, even when it’s pretending…it exudes an empathy, a compassion – a forgiveness - and it holds you in its’ spell…”

"When she sings it sometimes sounds like more than one person – and she has you totally in her control - it’s awesome!”

"Amarevois has one of those voices that you can’t really quantify, because it’s different on every song. Sometimes it’s as light as a feather, and sometimes it’s as scary as hell. Sometimes she sounds like a man! I think she’s got some serious attitude!”

"What can you say about her voice? It’s a bit Princey, a bit David Bowie, a bit Diamanda Galas, a bit Rickee Lee Jones, it’s a bit of everything, no? To me it is a very European sound, I don’t know – but when you hear a new song, immediately, you know it’s her!”

"The vocal that she sing on the ‘Free’ track with Srambler was the best dance song I’ve ever heard. It make me very happy. Come to Greece!”

"When you hear the tracks on the album and there are all these voices swirling ‘round, you wonder – how is she gonna do that live? But then you go and you don’t even notice, because she’s so captivating, and the other voices might be there or not, you just don’t care when you’re there! It’s awesome!”

"Why isn’t this woman winning Grammy’s? I don’t think she’s even signed to a label! What’s wrong with this world? Well, there’s nothing wrong with her world, it’s lush and infinitely beautiful. Her voice is the crowning glory of her music. As a musician myself, I reckon she’s an inspiration to us all! I only wished she lived in the Bay Area!”

I am in Sydney last year and I know then that Australia has some formiddable talent, and this woman is one. I wish she comes to Germany, she would fit right in here, because we’re all crazy and we love new music. I love the video of ‘Whispers’. Please finish the album.
